Our corsets and waist cinchers are sewn using all-steel boning, two inner layers of cotton twill and a wide selection of outer fabrics colors and styles. A limited edition of four to six corsets are made from each fabric selection and in most cases corsets are made-to-measure to ensure a comfortable and proper custom fit. Butterfly Frillies’ signature design, The Button Tab Corset, has become one of the many favorites in the Steampunk community and have been featured in local fashion shows and on CVG-TV 2014: Masquerade, USA Today, Ladies of Steampunk Magazine and Dark Beauty Magazine.
About The Corsetière
Yuly was born of Salvadorian/Puerto-Rican American descent and raised in San Francisco Bay Area. She moved from Antioch to Los Banos in 2001 with her husband, Todd Springer. There they found a wonderful American and Hispanic community to fit their needs and a home to raise their children.
In 2007, when Los Banos celebrated their Centennial, Yuly joined the Henry Miller Wild West Festival committee and discovered her love for Victorian-Era clothing. Here she found the inspiration to learn to sew historical fashion including dresses, coats, hats, underpinnings and corsets.
The following year, she joined The Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and focused on dress competitions. She was crowned 1st place at SASS Soiled Dove contest — 2008, 2009 and 2011 and in 2009, she placed 1st at SASS Convention for Dodge City Best Dress. Motivation to open her own shop and expand her line of corset designs soon followed. Her designs have been custom made for SASS Members, Steampunks, Costumers, Historical Re-enactors, Collectors, Brides, Bridesmaids and many others.
